Healthcare Inquests - Senior Associate
A popular national law firm is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its expanding Regulatory Healthcare Advisory Team, to focus on Healthcare Inquests work. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated team providing expert legal advice on a broad range of healthcare regulatory matters.
This well known firm has a high profile client base within the Healthcare Advisory team, including NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, and care organisations. The team’s work covers inquests, Court of Protection applications, Mental Health Tribunals, and regulatory challenges—including defending prosecutions by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
In this role, you will primarily manage a caseload of Inquest work, representing clients at hearings and providing strategic advice. You may also be involved in wider healthcare advisory work, offering excellent variety and breadth.
Key responsibilities will include handling Inquest matters, including attendance and advocacy at Pre-Inquest review hearings and Inquests across the country. You will be confident managing cases, including preparing clients and witnesses for Court proceedings. The team works collaboratively, so there will also be wider work supporting clients in broader regulatory challenges, including CQC investigations and healthcare compliance matters, providing excellent variety.
Upwards of 3 years' PQE is essential for the role, plus experience in advocacy and a strong desire to develop this further. You must be an excellent communicator and be eager to take on a busy and rewarding caseload.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, working on high-profile cases. The firm provides excellent training and development opportunities, competitive benefits, and a platform to grow your legal career. Flexible and hybrid working options are available.
