Work includes advising insurers, policyholders and corporate clients in relation to investigations and prosecutions by a wide range of regulators including the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, Police and Local Authorities. The scope of work is broad, advising on matters of breaches of regulatory law relating to health and safety, fire, food and product safety, and environmental matters. The team is also regularly instructed on high profile matters of corporate manslaughter, corporate homicide and gross negligence manslaughter.
As part of planned growth, the team is now looking to recruit an additional Solicitor (or two) to join the team in Manchester. The ideal level will be 3+ PQE, but more senior candidates with 10+ years' are also encouraged - the team is incredibly busy with new instructions, so there are opportunities for high level work at a more experienced level.
You will have experience advising on a broad range of regulatory matters and/or have experience advising clients on a range of general criminal matters, including attendance at interviews under caution with the Police, HSE and other regulators. As the range of work is wide, both candidates from a commercially focused environment and those with a criminal law background and experience of police interviews and advocacy at criminal courts are encouraged.
As well as being confident technically, you should have exceptional client service standards and be able to deal confidently and professionally with clients across a range of sectors from day one. The chosen candidate will also be team orientated and collegiate, with a willingness to share knowledge and support more junior members of the team.
This is a close and supportive team that can offer excellent quality work, career opportunities and a competitive salary and benefits package. The role also offers genuine flexibility and a hybrid work model.
