Banking and Finance - Senior Associate

Hyrbid/Remote

Our client is a leading national full service practice.

Its banking team advises banks, financial institutions and borrowers on all areas of banking and finance including acquisition and leveraged finance, syndicated finance, property investment and development finance as well as renewable energy finance.

As part of wider strategic growth the team are looking to recruit across a number of levels but with a priority at around the 5 year and upwards mark which represents the Senior Associate level.

The breadth of work is significant and as you will be expected to assist in the leading and mentoring of junior members of the team, it is essential that you have solid grounding and experience acting on transactional banking matters.

To give an idea, the role will involve:

  • Acting for clearing banks as well as other institutional lenders, various high profile corporate borrowers and clients from the public sector including registered social landlords, government and clients from the Higher Education sector
  • Providing advice and representation on all types of banking and finance matters, including but not limited to funds finance, acquisition finance, and real estate finance
  • Working closely with colleagues from our corporate and commercial, commercial property and construction teams
  • Drafting loan agreements on short form standard documentation, and LMA documentation
  • Drafting and preparing security documents
  • Drafting and negotiating intercreditor agreements
  • Liaising closely with clients to manage transactions from credit sanction to drawdown
  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
  • Leading on smaller and simpler financial transactions, from drafting and negotiation to execution and closing, and co-ordination of colleagues, clients and other professional advisors
  • Assisting senior members of the team on more strategic and complex transactions.
Ideally you will have upwards of 5 years experience and preferably exposure to dealing with LMA Documentation. You will have a willingness to help others and a desire to play a proactive role in client management.

As the team operates nationally, the team are open to elements of hybrid and remote working. Much will depend on the individual.
